WINNER TAKE ALL: Listed on this page are all the states whose delegates are decided in Republican Primaries by the Winner Take All method. That is, the candidate who gets the highest number of votes in the primary wins all the delegates. The total delegates for each states are based upon projections of polls by RealClearPolitics.com.
Projections are not a science but an art based upon accepted statistical analysis. Not every state has been polled as yet. Where there are no published polls, the delegate projections have been distributed based upon the current national poll of polls. The objective is to give a current snapshot for the entire country, so the best evidence rule has to be applied state by state.
Certainly, as soon as polling is available on these non-polled states, polling projections for those states will be used to swap in results specific to those states, rather than continue to use the current national results. As states and caucuses actually occur, those states will be removed from this list, and moved to the Decided list on the front page of this site.
